I took my new Canon 60D out on a little photo trip this morning. And...well, at 20 or so feet, this is the nose hair you can capture!

Thought of the Day 2011 #18 - Diet Coke

Today, a study was released that supposedly showed a link between diet sodas and a higher incidence of stroke and heart attack. Read info here at Huffington Post. While I don't believe diet sodas are health foods by any stretch of the imagination, I suspect the tie to stroke is probably tenuous at best. I'm really tired of statistical "studies" like this. Rather than diet sodas being the problem, maybe non-diet soda drinkers tend to drink more coffee? And coffee is the benefit rather than diet soda being the detriment? Or maybe the non-soda drinkers tend to like carrots more? We can't see the data to be able to make other conclusions. I doubt that statisticians took all personal variables into account -- they probably needed to find something to report after 10 years of gathering random facts. I just wish there was a way to holistically study people. It's probably impossible to completely gather all potential variables in diet, genetics and lifestyle, but c'mon...we should be able to gather more inormation using Facebook profiles. Heh....I better not give them any ideas.

When creating digital works, I often struggle with color composition choices. I like the original, like this one:

Or maybe the washed out version is more appealing? So many easy, please-y choices! Maybe that's also the beauty of digital--you can have it all.
