Thought of the Day 2010 #80 - Hotel Doors
know when a snack is lifted, why can't they put in hotel doors that
close softly? What about using a mechanism on the doors like the
soft-close cupboards? It would make for a LOT nicer sound experience.
Thought of the Day 2010 #79 - Vegas
tightened the slots. I can't win! At all! Grrr. Gambling is no fun when
ya don't win.

Thought of the Day 2010 #78 - How to Tell You're in a Fancy Hotel
2. The drapes have auto controls next to the bed.
3. There's a phone and television in the bathroom.
4. The in-room snacks are on a weight sensitive tray. If you take
something off for more than 30 seconds you get automatically charged for
that item.
5. It smells nice.
6. No bugs.
7. Mattress doesn't poke at you.
8. Laundry bags are fabric-like rather than plastic.
9. Two sinks.
10. Many lighting options.

Thought of the Day 2010 #77 - Rush Rush
a little flurry of orders and a big flurry of messages, worked several
hours on newsletter -- sent draft off, and trying to get ready for a
little all-girl (women, really) trip to Vegas in the morning. Oh, and I
feel like death warmed over. Wheee. *tired*
Thought of the Day 2010 #76 - Saturday
non-profit organization. I've learned some new tricks in InDesign, too.
Long day, though. 11+ hours and I'm beat. Night night.

Thought of the Day 2010 #74 - Wilmaaaaaaaaaa!
their necks...just like Wilma Flintstone. Seriously. Looks like a joke
and not like fashion. Just say no, ya'll.
wow you are one incredible babe. smart funny creative beautiful a sweetheart and the most balanced person i ever met. i love your digital callages :)
Thanks.
so what would you do if you were president?
Hide in the White House hot tub and hope that four years would be over FAST.
What kind of dogs do you have, how old and what are their names? I love dogs.
Chubbs is a chocolate lab and Ollie is a yellow lab mix. They're both over 7 years old...don't know how old 'cuz i didn't know them before that point.

Thought of the Day 2010 #69 - Signs of Spring
today in the desert just south of the Salt Lake valley made it a lovely
day. Brought the dogs along (they rarely leave the yard) and they went
nuts, enjoying the new smells and vistas. Good slobbery times for them!
Thought of the Day 2010 #68 - "It's Gotta Be Stainless"
stainless appliances over and over on HGTV. I'm wondering how long it
will take stainless appliances to turn into the currently hated "avocado
green" appliances of the 70s.

It's 3/19/10. Don't you think it's about time to update your photos of the week? I so look forward to them.
Oh, I know. I'm sooo not timely these days. I remember the good old days when I would post like clockwork on Wednesday nights. Hopefully I'll get 'em posted soon. Thanks for your patience!
whoops i din't mean to criticize you for your views. I love your posts. At least you got something intelligent going on in beautiful head :) XO
"something intelligent"? heheh. Thanks, I think.
hey those are real masterpiece works of art. what a talented babe. soothing to my eyes indeed :)
Thanks! Not really masterpieces, but kinda fun.
Of all the Photos of the Week you have posted over the years, do you have a favourite one, or two, or three?
This one always makes me laugh: http://www.catay.com/weekdetail.asp?WeekID=187
So does this one: http://www.catay.com/weekdetail.asp?WeekID=143
Always liked this one: http://www.catay.com/weekdetail.asp?WeekID=54
It's tought to argue with your TOTD because you're never too far from the truth and you have an angelic heart if there is such a thing and your face glows with beauty and sweetness and you're just a good cookie....choc oatmeal/raisin....mmm
I don't think I'm as complex as a chocolate oatmeal raisin cookie, but thanks!
Your TMI hot tub moment is one of the best I've ever heard! What's been your most memorable awkward moment?
Oh my, sooo many awkward moments in my life. I can't pick just one!
What are your height, weight, bust, waist and hip measurements?
Gotta love the numbers games! 5'5". Dunno my weight, quite honestly. I'm heavy as a Chevy. Grabbing the measuring tape...58-53-70. What are you going to make me?!? So excited!
I'm taking a random poll of people I suspect either use or have used spell check. What sort of words surprise you when they're flagged as incorrect? For example, tonight I typed "vegan" and it said it was wrong.
It's not that the spellchecker is wrong...I'm usually wrong when it comes to "IE" words. I before E except after C is bogus 'cuz there's exceptions. And then there's the dyslexia...
Thought of the Day 2010 #67 - Fiber Cleaning
been cleaned...no matter how much they've been rinsed. While I suspect
that there have been innovations in chemical formulations, I equally
suspect that companies creating cleaning compounds want to maintain
their sales level. If they came up with a carpet cleaning/laundry
detergent/upholstery cleanser that actually left no residue at all, they
would end up cutting sales in half...or worse. The formula innovations
will NOT be from the major corporations if that is the case.

Thought of the Day 2010 #66 - Census Racism
and not much else. Also, there's a significant emphasis on determination
of hispanic origin. It strikes me as curious that there are several
hispanic categories, Asian categories, but not much of a breakdown for
African Americans. Why is that? I'm thinkin' that it's 'cuz the
government is more concerned about the hispanic influx than African,
Asian or Caucasian immigrants. I'm sure they're wondering if their
*cough* fabulous *cough* fence at the southern border is working. Could
be other reasons, but is it really important?
If I were an illegal in the US, I would send in the census form with
bogus information just so the door to door census takers wouldn't come
knocking. I'm sure I'm not alone in this.
So, how is there any chance they will get an accurate count? No chance,
really. If there weren't such a ridculous level of irrational
immigration fear, there might be some hope. Not this decade.
Finally, what are people of mixed races supposed to put on the form?
Since we're pretty much all of mixed race origins according to some
genetic studies, I'm not sure what I should put on the form. I'm
thinking of "mutt" on the "other" line.

Thought of the Day 2010 #65 - Fun!
play around with Photoshop very often -- usually use Fireworks these
days -- so it was a lot of fun doing some collages to familiarize myself
with the differences in menus and functions. I'll post some sample photo
collages tomorrow.
Thought of the Day 2010 #64 - Double Entendre
high school. Maybe it was partially just flirting or maybe I was a bit
of a freak, but I could spin almost anything into a sexual double
entendre.
I remember flirting in this manner with one kid in particular. I loved
doing it because I would make him blush horribly. Often, all I had to do
was just look at him a certain way after he said something that could be
perceived ever so remotely as sexual, and he'd blush. Such a sweet kid.
Other times is was just quick quips. Ah, good times.
Of course at the time, I was completely innocent, but knew far too much
about sex thanks to my mum's fresh human sexuality text book that I
sneakily read cover to cover. Maybe that added to the charm of it?

Thought of the Day 2010 #63 - Eliminates Odors?
them up? Is it microencapsulation? I know it's not anti-bacterial, so
it's not working that way. Does it pluck up the offending scent
molecules and ship them to stinkier climes? I wanna know! Does anyone
know?

Thought of the Day 2010 #62 - Crying
is often cute and makes me smile. A child's insistant cry is often
annoying and causes me to run away. A teenager's cry tends to make me
sympathize. An adult's cry usually has me tearing in empathy.

Thought of the Day 2010 #58 - Hoarders 2
this blog. I can see now for most people that the hoarding issues are
far more about mental illness than consumerism. There's been some
extreme cases that are so, so, sad.
One comes immediately to mind -- the woman that would tie herself into a
chair that was perched upon the heap of trash in the kitchen. She tied
herself in so that when she would sleep she wouldn't fall into the
garbage. That was the same woman who no longer had running water, so she
used adult diapers instead of a toilet. The pile of diapers (and human
waste!) was so bad in the bathroom that the floor needed to be removed
'cuz the human waste rotted the floor. It was so extreme. So sad. What
even became sadder was that when the crews were on hand to help clean
the house, she was still unwilling to let some of the trash go. The junk
was more important than the relationship with her daughter, her
health...or anything. Seriously ill and very sad...

Thought of the Day 2010 #57 - Don't Donate Overseas
that there are plenty of people who need money in the US. Basically a
"take care of your own" concept.
While I agree there is plenty of need in the US, countries like Haiti
don't have a lot of other options. They were a struggling country before
the recent devastation.
Also, while those people in other countries fly under another flag, we
are all on one planet and despite what some might believe, what happens
in other countries *does* affect us.
"No man is an island...," even if they are physically on another island.
Take care of our own *and* reach deep into your cash reserves to aid
others on this planet. You'll be glad you did.
What's the most TMI moment you've ever had? Who was it and what did they over-share?
First one that came to mind -- sitting next to a woman in a hot tub who announced to one and all about her yeast infection. Maybe it wasn't TMI per se, 'cuz I was happy to know so that I could make a quick exit from the tub.
I've also had several run-ins with people who have shared much-too-much about their sexual exploits. I'm not talking close friends...these were people I don't even know beyond their first names.
per one of your answers - "Little House is very Mormon friendly,..." I was just curious. Are you Mormon? Michael
Oh, hell no. I'm not a religious person at all. I am married to a non-practicing Mormon who has lots of active Mormon family. It's kind of like being married to the mob, but less dangerous.
What line of work is your husband in?
For his day job, he works for the state of Utah in their unemployment office. For his sideline gigs, he's an bottle digger, sheep herder and farmer. He's always got something he's working on during the warm weather months.
Oh btw, I found an incredible opra singer Charlotte Margiono. Big lusty delicious amazon babe Wow. Her voice shattered my glass near me! LOL.Check her out at youtube. Type in her name and don giovanni. She rolls in the bed with a guy LOL. Mmm!
Checked her out. I'm not really a huge fan of opera, but she sounded decent.
Are you ok? You had some weird thoughts lately LOL.
I've been stressed overall and trying to dig my way out of the pile! I hope the thoughts, although weird, are still entertaining and *maybe* even thought provoking?
Why facebook? I just deactivated my account because I got tired of seeing people who I thought were my friends degrading into hating fiends. Why do you stay?
Why? Well, because I've had a pretty good experience on it overall. Sorry to read you've had a bad experience with the site. I would suggest you un-friend those individuals who turned into "hating friends".

Thought of the Day 2010 #53 - Job Titles
even fit in the standard job title field on our network manager, Active
Directory. The title is a fairly long string starting with "manager". As
I mentioned on Facebook, it's kind of like: "Manager of Dohickey,
Blotto, Stickfigures and Diversity of Shape." It's as if they couldn't
come up with a generalized title like "Manager of All Good Things", but
instead, they needed to explicitly state each area of responsibility. I
think I'm going to change my job title to "Lackey of internet things
that most see as magic, databases, pretty graphics, email technologies
and jelly jam production." It would work, but I would need a much wider
business card.

Thought of the Day 2010 #52 - Ill Fitting
jackets that are two sizes too small. If it doesn't fit...don't wear it.
If you don't know if it's fitting you or not, look in the mirror. If you
have one button buttoned, say at the waist, and there's a giant,
strained triangle from the button to the hem edge, it's not a fitting
sweater. That is a sweater yearning to be free...

Thought of the Day 2010 #50 - Success!
too serious, luckily. The feedback has been pretty positive, again
luckily. It really feels good to get it off my semi-permanent to-do
list. Yay!!
Thought of the Day 2010 #49 - Tomorrow
long awaited project is finally rolling out. I spent most of today
fighting last minute issues, discovering and fixing some random
boo-boos, and locking everyone out of the old system. So, aside from
this wee thought, there is genuinely nothing going on in my head right
now aside from a wee stress headache.
