what is the difference between a chat, a blog and a twit?

Twit - 140 character notes, specific to Twitter.com. Usually called "tweet."

Blog - used to be for web logging, but is now considered self publishing using blogger.com or wordpress.com, etc.

Chat - live, written communication over some Internet based application between two or more people.
