Thought of the Day 2010 #137 - Sleep

I had less than two hours of sleep last night. It's been quite a while since I've had so little. Usually I get five to seven hours. So, today, I was reminded of the importance of sleep. I had the buzzy, easily irritated by light and sound feeling that kind of makes me feel nauseous. Not pleasant. I can only imagine how people subjected to sleep deprivation on a long term basis must feel. I can also understand how insomnia would be a debilitating condition. Blech. So, with this new understanding, I'm going to bed earlier than typical so that I can feel my version of normal.

Whenever I didn't have enough sleep, I compared it to the old UHF low wattage tv broadcasts. Everything kind of fades in and out, the picture is fuzzy and it usually wasn't something I'd wanna' watch. It was usually a wasted day.

I hope you get more sleep.
