Thought of the Day #140 - Saguaro vs. Joshua

Whenever I've travelled through Arizona, I've noticed that where you
see saguaro cacti, you won't see joshua trees. And in areas where there
are millions of joshua trees, no saguaro. Curious! Do they not get
along? Do they battle for resources and give up territory much like
gangs fighting for drug sales?

I made a concerted effort this past weekend to try to find them
together. The only instance I could find was the two closely residing
in an artificial environment, separated by a fence. I'm sure the fence
kept them from battling to the death.

Intersting observation. As a frequent desert traveler,I have never seen the two together.

Good to know that I wasn't just hallucinating. :-)
