Thought of the Day #37

I gave Ivan a large bag of clothes that I didn't want anymore. He took
them to a co-worker who is a similar size who is financially strapped.
She sincerely appreciates the castoffs and often wears them to work
soon after receiving them. Sometimes Ivan reports back saying, "She
wore that aqua shirt today." or something similar. I'm always happy
that she found something she liked in the bag. You never really know
since everyone's tastes are so different.

Well, Ivan told me yesterday she was wearing a thermal pajama set to the
office. Honest!! He obviously recognized it, and had to do a double
take. I feel really bad about it, but what can you do? You don't want
to say anything that might embarrass her, but at the same time I feel
like I need to somehow "define" what's appropriate to wear where if she
get's more hand-me-downs. Or maybe I'm just overreacting? I dunno. Any

Was it casual Friday? ;)

That's a tough question. It's hard to broach a subject like that with someone unless you know them pretty well. Maybe next time put each type of clothing in separate bags labelled with what they are. e.g. Pajamas in a bag marked pajamas, shirts in a bag marked shirts, etc. Maybe that would be enough to give her a hint.

That's an excellent suggestion. Thank you!
