Thought of the Day #5

It makes me sad to read blogs on which women (or men) obsess over minor beauty flaws. It makes me sad to hear friends and family do it, too.

"I wish I weren't so fat," told by a girl weighing 160lbs. Seriously?

"If only my nose were straight, everything would be perfect..." That's right. That nose is inhibiting EVERYTHING...

You KNOW people who do this. You may actually be that person, too. Our self-centered obsession with appearance *flaws* which, other people don't notice or if they do, they don't care, we spend minutes and hours a day fretting over. It inhibits our lives. It keeps us from being "whole". So much self-hatred. Over what?? A pimple. A gut. A bald spot. A wart. A stretch mark. A big ass. A set of small boobs. A couple of small eyes. A skewed eyebrow. etc, etc, etc.

I promise you this: When you're on your deathbed, you won't even have these things on your mind. So, why waste the energy now??
